I’ve always been fascinated by the imposing brutalist monuments found at the entrances of many Romanian cities. They have a specific "heavy" vibe that’s hard to ignore. For my project, I decided to rebuild the one from Carei from scratch to replace the old, lower-quality assets.
The geometry might seem straightforward, but the real work went into the textures. I used Gimp to hand-paint the weathering effects—aiming for that realistic look of raw concrete that’s been exposed to the elements for decades. I focused on adding rain streaks, moss buildup at the bottom, and those subtle rust stains that leak from the internal metal structure over time.
This is a 100% original model, fully optimized for the ETS2 engine. It features clean topology (as seen in the wireframes) and custom baked Ambient Occlusion to make sure it looks grounded and natural when you drive past it in the simulation.
